Lisa Jackson-Tumbling Instructor

Lisa started tumbling when she was 14 and fell in love with the sport. She was given an opportunity to begin coaching when she was just 17 years old. This season is now her 21st year of coaching! In the past 20 years, she has attended dozens of professional development clinics to improve her teaching skills. She has also coached at national tumbling and trampoline events across the country. Before she had children of her own, she was a USTA certified judge for tumbling, trampoline, and double mini for 2 years. Once she became a mom, she decided she did not want to travel to judge so she focused on coaching only. Lisa is currently safety certified through the USTA and CPR certified. Over the past 20 years, she has worked with a diverse range of students aged 1 ½ to 21. Lisa says “I truly enjoy working with all ages! I absolutely LOVE coaching tumbling and cheer at Legg Up Productions.”  Lisa is married with 3 children of her own. Her daughters Kylie (14) and Sydney (12) live and breathe for dance, cheer, and tumbling. They have both been tumbling and dancing since they were 2.  Lisa also has a son, Wyatt (9). After years of being a stay at home mom Lisa decided to go back to school to become a teacher. In 2012, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Lisa is currently employed as a Third Grade teacher at Wayne City Elementary School.

Jessica Barbre- Dance Instructor

Jessica began her gymnastics career at the age of 4. She competed at the local, state, and national levels which took her as far as Disney’s Wide World of Sports.  Jessica was the state gymnastics champion and national runner up in 1996.  Starting at the age of 6, Jessica became interested in tap, jazz, and pom-poms where she met and became friends with Nina, Legg Up’s owner and operator. She was also a part of a production pom-pom group that was the national champion in 1996.  Jessica cheered and continued to take gymnastics recreationally until high school. She has always had a passion for the sport and loves teaching.  She currently holds a certification in First Aid and CPR.  Jessica began teaching at Legg Up in 2012. She loves the joy and excitement she sees in the Legg Up kids every week as they learn new and challenging skills.  Her own daughters attend Legg Up and love every second of it! If there was one thing she could tell current and prospective students is that “Legg Up definitely feels like home!”

Kendra Barnard-Tumbling Instructor

At 9 years old, Kendra began tumbling at Tonya Loker’s School of Dance.  Each year, she was honored with a solo for recital and found herself performing at all kinds of places including basketball tournaments, on top of a flatbed trailer, and before fireworks.  Kendra competed regionally and went to nationals.  She vividly remembers the feeling of my first win and want every child to have the same feeling of accomplishment.   Kendra assisted in teaching tumbling classes through high school and discovered her love for working with children.  While she left for college, got married, and had three great kids, she never lost her love of tumbling.  As Kendra's kids reached the age and desire to tumble, she realized how much she missed it and found her way back at Legg Up Productions.  Kendra enjoys challenging the students, showing them what they can do when they work hard, and seeing their faces when they perfect new skills.
